Leadership and management – how to manage effectively in order to achieve results

Abstract:

The master's thesis entitled Leadership and Management - how to manage effectively in order to achieve results expresses the main common and different features between these two terms and generally deals with their problems and practical use at the hotel resort Prinsotel Alba situated at Spanish island Mallorca. In the theoretical part, the basic concepts related to this discipline will be explained, especially people's leadership and management, functions and tasks of executives, whether managers or leaders and their styles of leadership and management. Subsequently, the acquired knowledge and information will be used in the practical part and the result of the thesis will be recommendations for increasing the level of satisfaction of the employees of the Hotel Alba as well as improving the quality of management of the entire resort.

Abstract:

Diplomová práca Leadership a management – ako efektívne riadiť za účelom dosahovania výsledkov vyjadruje hlavné spoločné a rozdielne znaky týchto pojmov a celkovo sa zaoberá ich problematikou a praktickým využitím v hotelovom rezorte Prinsotel Alba na Španielskom ostrove Mallorca. V teoretickej časti priblížim základné pojmy, ktoré súvisia s touto disciplínou, predovšetkým vedenie a riadenie ľudí, funkcie a úlohy vedúcich pracovníkov, či už manažérov alebo lídrov a ich štýly vedenia resp. riadenia. Následné získané vedomosti a informácie budú použité v praktickej časti a výsledkom diplomovej práce budú odporúčania a návrhy na zvýšenie kvality managementu hotela a zvýšenie efektivity riadenia zamestnancov hotela Alba.
