A role for p53 in the regulation of extracellular matrix metalloproteinase in human cancer

Abstract:

Nádorový supresor protein p53 hraje v organismu velice významnou roli při mnoha biologických procesech. Jedná se o regulaci buněčného cyklu, apoptózy a jiné. Dalším jeho úkolem je regulovat procesy spojené s vývojem nádorového onemocnění, jako je například angiogeneze nebo invazivita. Na těchto procesech se podílí celá řada proteinů. Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na regulaci matrixových metaloproteináz, což jsou enzymy, které se účastní procesu degradace extracelulární matrix, čímž velmi výrazně usnadňují migraci nádorových buněk do další tkáně. Úkolem této bakalářské práce je shrnout dosud známé poznatky o působení proteinu p53 a matrixových metaloproteináz v nádorovém bujení a především způsob, kterým standartní a mutantní proteiny p53 matrixové metaloproteinázy regulují.

Abstract:

Tumor suppressor protein p53 plays in the body a very important role in many biological processes. It is the regulation of cell cycle, apoptosis, and others. The next task is to regulate the processes associated with the development of cancer, such as angiogenesis and invasiveness. There are involved many proteins in these processes. This bachelor work is focused on the regulation of matrix metalloproteinases, which are enzymes that are involved in the degradation of extracellular matrix, thereby significantly facilitating the migration of tumor cells into other tissue. The target of this work is to summarize the known knowledge of the effects of p53 protein and matrix metalloproteinases in tumor growth and the particular way in which wtp53 and mutp53 proteins regulate matrix metalloproteinase.
