Lectins are proteins of non-immune origin with the ability to recognize and reversibly bind sugars. These abilities are particularly useful in studies of complex sugars and structural changes on cell surfaces. Lektíny sú proteíny neimunitného pôvodu schopné rozpoznať a reverzibilne viazať sacharidy. Tieto schopnosti lektínov sú užitočné pri štúdiu komplexných sacharidov a pozorovaní štruktúrnych zmien na povrchu buniek.
