Nudity as an Inspiration in Fine Arts about 1900 (painting and drawing)

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na přelom 19. a 20. století v Evropě.V této době vznikala různá umělecká hnutí, která spojovalo odmítání akademického historismu a tradicionalismu. Umělci se snažili prosadit různé inovační způsoby tvorby, nová témata a prvky. Mnozí se také nesmiřovali a nesouhlasili s pruderií panující ve společnosti, tak často pobuřovali veřejnost svými obrazy nebo skicami, ve kterých otevřeně zobrazovali nahotu a vyzývavou sexualitu. Právě těmito umělci, a jejich tvrobou, se ve své práci zabývám.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis focuses on the situation at the turn of the 19th and 20th century in Europe. At this time various art movements emerged, associated with refusing of academic historicism and traditionalism.Artists were attempting to achieve different inovative ways of production, new topics and elements. Many of them also didn’t put up with and didn’t agree to Grundyism wide-spread in the society so they often outraged the public with their paintings or sketches, openly showing nudity and provoking sexuality. I deal with these artists and their works in my thesis.
