The legality of Turkey's armed intervention in Syria from the perspective of public international law

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se věnuje problematice legality použití síly v rámci Turecké ofenzivy v Sýrii. Turecká ofenziva v severní Sýrii přinesla řadu výzev pro mezinárodní právo a lze ji podrobit analýze v několika rovinách. Vzhledem ke komplexitě tématu jsem se rozhodla nahlédnout na konflikt pouze z hlediska optiky legality ozbrojeného zásahu Turecka a posoudit, zda útok na jiný suverénní stát v této podobě, je vůbec přípustný.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is devoted to the issue of the legality of the use of force in the Turkish offensive in Syria. The Turkish offensive in northern Syria has posed a number of challenges to the international law and can be analyzed on several levels. Given the complexity of the topic, I decided to look at the conflict only in terms of the legality of Turkey's armed intervention and assess whether the attack on another sovereign state in this form is permissible at all.
