The greenhouse gas emission and economic growth

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá identifikací vztahu mezi výkonností ekonomiky a emisemi oxidu uhličitého. Cílem bylo zjistit, zda existuje vztah mezi těmito proměnnými pro vybrané země a to Českou republiku, Slovenskou republiku a Švédské království. Za tímto účelem byly použity data pro jednotlivé země za období 1992 až 2014 a zkonstruovány modely pomocí metody nejmenších čtverců OLS. Výsledky naznačují, že ve všech zkoumaných zemích existuje totožný vztah mezi výkonností ekonomiky a emisemi oxidu uhličitého. Vyjma posouzení vztahu mezi emisemi oxidu uhličitého a výkonností ekonomiky je analyzována časová řada emisí České republiky, z níž plyne, že emise oxidu uhličitého mají klesající trend. V závěru jsou shrnuty významné výsledky práce.

Abstract:

Diploma thesis deals with identification of the relationship between economic performance and carbon dioxide emissions. The aim of the diploma thesis is to determine relationship between these variables for selected countries, namely Czech Republic, Slovak Republic and Kingdom of Sweden. In order to fulfil this objective, data were used for individual countries during the period from 1992 to 2014 and models were constructed using the least squares method OLS. The results denote that in all examined countries exists the same relationship between economic performance and carbon dioxide emissions. Apart from assessment of the relationship between economic performance and carbon dioxide emissions, the time series of carbon dioxide emissions in Czech Republic is also examined. From this analysis follows that carbon dioxide emissions have a downward trend. The significant results of thesis are summarized in the conclusion.
