Contrast-induced Renal Injury

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se primárně zabývá problematikou nefrotoxicity způsobené kontrastními látkami. V úvodní části je popsána anatomie ledvin včetně podrobného popisu struktury nefronu. Zároveň je úvodní část práce věnována charakterizaci ledvinných funkcí a jsou v ní rozepsány i základní ledvinné regulační mechanismy. Hlavní část práce je věnována druhům kontrastních látek a jejich následnému praktickému využití. Dále jsou definovány možnosti hodnocení poškození ledvin, včetně nejčastěji používaných způsobů hodnocení, jako je například stanovení hladiny kreatininu v séru nebo glomerulární filtrace. V závěrečné části práce jsou shrnuty vybrané studie zabývající se nefrotoxicitou indukovanou kontrastními látkami.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis primarily deals with the issue of nephrotoxicity caused by contrast agents. This introductory part describes the anatomy of the kidney and detailed description of the structure of the nephron. The introductory part of this work is also devoted to the characterization of renal functions and it describes the basic renal regulatory mechanisms. The main part of the work is devoted to the types of contrast agents and their subsequent practical use. In addition, options for assessing the renal damage are defined, including the most commonly used methods, such as determination of the serum creatinine or the glomerular filtration. The final part of the work summarizes selected studies dealing with nephrotoxicity induced by the contrast agents.
