Regional disparities in causes and consequences of Czech aging population

Abstract:

Demografické stárnutí obyvatelstva České republiky se v současné době stává jednou z nejzávažnějších a velmi diskutovaných společenských otázek a spočívá v tom, že se zvyšuje podíl seniorů a snižuje se podíl dětí mladších 15 let. Cílem diplomové práce je zjistit, jaké příčiny a vliv má stárnutí obyvatel na regiony ČR. Dílčím cílem je: 1) zachytit regionální disparity, které vznikají na základě stále se zvyšujícího věku obyvatel, 2) definovat příčiny stárnutí (porodnost a plodnost, zvyšující se naděje dožití apod.) a 3) prezentovat vybrané důsledky stárnutí obyvatel. V analytické části práce jsou použity následující metody: analýza časových řad, regresní a korelační analýza. Ukázalo se, že se dlouhodobě snižuje míra porodnosti, úmrtnosti a přirozený přírůstek. Naopak dochází k navýšení naděje dožití a indexu stáří. Na základě toho byly okresy rozděleny do dvou větších skupin, a to na skupinu okresů, u kterých dochází ke zvyšování dynamiky stárnutí a na skupinu okresů, kde dochází ke snižování dynamiky stárnutí. U okresů s nízkou mírou porodností, vyšla vysoká hodnota indexu stáří a naděje dožití a nízká hodnota migračního přírůstku. U těchto okresů byla navržena pro zlepšení situace v reprodukci a pomoci mladým rodinám i seniorům. Trend dlouhodobého stárnutí obyvatel je velmi důležité téma i z hlediska udržitelného rozvoje, neboť jeho důsledky se projevují v sociální a ekonomické oblasti. Jelikož dochází k navýšení podílu ekonomicky neaktivních osob v populaci. Tyto důsledky je třeba sledovat a hledat řešení pro zmírnění. Zároveň je velmi důležité podchytit příčiny stárnutí populace, aby nedocházelo k tak rychle se navyšujícímu trendu stárnutí.

Abstract:

Demographic aging of the population of the Czech Republic is currently becoming one of the most serious and much-discussed social issues and is that the share of seniors is increasing and the share of children under 15 is decreasing. The aim of the diploma thesis is to find out what causes and influence of population aging on the regions of the Czech Republic. The partial goal is: 1) to capture regional disparities that arise on the basis of ever-increasing age of the population, 2) to define the causes of aging (birth and fertility, increasing life expectancy, etc.) and 3) to present selected consequences of population aging. The following methods are used in the analytical part of the work: time series analysis, regression and correlation analysis. Birth rates, mortality and natural increase have been shown to decline over the long term. On the contrary, there is an increase in life expectancy and an index of old age. Based on this, the districts were divided into two larger groups, namely the group of districts in which the dynamics of aging are increasing and the group of districts in which the dynamics of aging are decreasing. In districts with a low birth rate, a high value of the index of age and life expectancy and a low value of migration increase were published. In these districts, it was designed to improve the reproductive situation and help young families and the elderly. The trend of long-term aging of the population is a very important topic also from the point of view of sustainable development, as its consequences are manifested in the social and economic field. As the share of economically inactive people in the population increases. These consequences need to be monitored and mitigation solutions sought. At the same time, it is very important to capture the causes of the aging population in order to avoid such a rapidly increasing aging trend.
