Narrative emotionality

Abstract:

The work deals with the description of the language?s expression of emotions in the novel ?Die Züchtigung? by Anna Mitgutsch and in the novel ?Aufgetrennte Tage? by Gudrun Sei-denauer. Conducting discourse analysis the differences in the description of identical emoti-ons by these authors are shown, as well as the linguistic potential for expressing emotions. These means of expressions can be intensified by the characteristic of a narrative text. The core of this study is the analysis of those indirect linguistic sources which can increase the emotional potential of a text. The indirect means can be modified not only by the temporality expressed in the verbal phrase, but also by the subjective attitude towards time and the emoti-onal experiences that are connected to it.

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá popisem jazykového vyjádření emocí v románech ?Die Züchtigung? od Anny Mitgutschové a v románu ?Aufgetrennte Tage? od Gudrun Seidenauerové. Na základě diskur-sivní analýzy je poukázáno na rozdíly ve vyjádření identických emocí u těchto autorek, tak jako na možnosti, které při jazykové komunikaci emocí naskytuje charakteristika narativního textu. V popředí stojí nepřímé vyjádření emocí a jeho modifikace nejen pomocí jazykového ztvárnění času, ať již pomocí slovesného času, příslovečných vedlejších vět časových nebo pomocí slovesného vidu, ale hlavně vyjádřením subjektivního postoje k času a tím také s ním spojených citových zkušeností.
