Bakalářská práce se zabývá účelem trestání v trestním právu. Nejdříve je zde přiblížen pojem trest, následně jsou zmíněny funkce trestu a je-jich účel a také hlavní teorie ospravedlňující trestání, mezi něž patří utilitarismus, retributivismus a teorie smíšené. This bachelor thesis deals with the purpose of punishment in the Czech legal system. At first, we introduce the definitions of punishment and functions of punishment, then purpose of punishment and theo-ries which justify punishment-utilitarian, retributivism and combined theory.
