Attitudes of parents of intact children towards persons with disabilities

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá zjišťováním vlivů na postoje rodičů intaktních dětí vůči osobám se znevýhodněním. Cílem práce je zjistit, zda a jaký vliv má sociální blízkost k lidem s postižením u dětí na postoje jejich rodičů vůči osobám se znevýhodněním. Práce se skládá ze dvou částí, teoretické a praktické. V teoretické části jsou charakterizovány osoby se znevýhodněním a vybrané typy postižení, jimiž jsou osoby s mentálním postižení, osoby s tělesným postižením a také osoby se smyslovým postižením. Dále se teoretická část zaměřuje na osoby se znevýhodněním ve společnosti. V praktické části této práce je popsán kvantitativní výzkum, ve kterém je využíván nástroj MRAI-R pro měření sociální distance. Závěrečná část práce se věnuje interpretaci výsledků, diskuzi a doporučení pro práci s rodičovskou veřejností v oblasti postojů k lidem s postižením.

Abstract:

This bachelor's thesis deals with determining the influences on the attitudes of parents of intact children towards persons with disabilities. The aim of the work is to find out whether and what effect social proximity to people with disabilities has on children's attitudes towards disabled people. The work consists of two parts, theoretical and practical. In the theoretical part, persons with disabilities and selected types of disabilities are characterized, which are persons with mental disabilities, persons with physical disabilities and also persons with sensory disabilities. Furthermore, the theoretical part focuses on disadvantaged people in society. The practical part of this work describes quantitative research in which the MRAI-R tool is used to measure social distance. The final part of the work is devoted to the interpretation of the results, discussion and recommendations for work with the parenting public in the field of attitudes towards people with disabilities.
