Serious complications of diabetes mellitus - the role of the rescuer

Abstract:

Cílem bakalářské práce bylo zjistit, zda diabetici znají základní informace o své nemoci a do jaké míry dodržují nebo nedodržují terapii. V teoretické části se věnuji problematice diabetu jako celospolečenské záležitosti, patofyziologii, diagnostice, klinice a terapii a akutním komplikacím diabetu mellitu. Empirické šetření jsem uskutečnila se souhlasem managementu ve Fakultní nemocnici Ostrava a Vítkovické nemocnici, a.s., v období od prosince 2010 do únoru 2011, prostřednictvím anonymního dotazníkového šetření, ze kterého jsem analyzovala a vyhodnotila výsledky. Šetřením bylo zjištěno, že diabetici, mají dobré znalosti o své nemoci, avšak zcela nedodržují léčebnou terapii, která se poté odráží na vzniku akutních komplikací.

Abstract:

The aim of this bachelor thesis was to determine whether diabetics know basic information about their disease and to what extent, or failure to comply with therapy.The theoretical part deals with issues of societal issues such as diabetes, pathophysiology, diagnosis, clinic and therapy and acute complications of diabetes mellitus. Empirical evaluation was conducted with the approval of management at the University Hospital Ostrava, Vitkovice Hospital, a.s., the period from December 2010 to February 2011, through an anonymous questionnaire, from which I analyze and evaluate the results. The investigation found that diabetics have a good understanding of their illness, but absolutely do not comply with medical therapy, which is then reflected in the development of acute complications.
