Analysis of the Monetary Aggregates Evolution in the Czech Republic

Abstract:

Publication deals with the development of monetary aggregates in the years 2008 through 2012 in the Czech Republic and compares them with the development of fundamental macroeconomic indicators and the theory of monetary policy. At the beginning it introduces to economic development, next development of gross domestic product, the global financial crisis and its impact on the Czech Republic. The following section discusses the theoretical principles and the monetary policy applied by the Czech National Bank in its regulation of the financial market and discusses important aspects such as inflation targeting, monetary policy instruments or transmission mechanisms. The knowledge of both previous parts is used at the end of the work which analyzes the specific monetary aggregates and compares them with the general economic development of the country.

Abstract:

Publikácia sa zaoberá problematikou vývoja peňažných agregátov v rokoch 2008 až 2012 v Českej republike a porovnáva ich vývoj s fundamentálnymi makroekonomickými ukazovateľmi a teóriou menovej politiky. Úvodom predstavuje všeobecný ekonomický vývoj, ďalej vývoj hrubého domáceho produktu, zamestnanosti a inflácie a pokračuje výkladom o svetovej finančnej kríze a jej dopadoch na Českú republiku. Nasledujúca časť rozoberá teoretické princípy a definície menovej politiky, ktorú aplikuje Česká národná banka vo svojom regulovaní finančného trhu a pojednáva o dôležitých aspektoch, akými sú cieľovanie inflácie, nástroje menovej politiky alebo transmisné mechanizmy. Tieto poznatky z oboch častí sú využité v závere práce, kde sa analyzujú konkrétne peňažné agregáty a porovnávajú sa so všeobecným ekonomickým vývojom krajiny.
