Analysis of the creation and implementation of strategies in the woodworking industry

Abstract:

Diplomová práce měla za cíl analýzu strategie na úrovni „business“ a jakým způsobem se liší realizace těchto strategií v praxi. Práce se soustředila na vybrané společnosti působící v dřevozpracujícím odvětví. Analýza strategií se opírala o informace získané kvalitativním dotazováním především rozhovorů s managementem, zaměstnanci společností, dostupných odborných informací a literární rešerši. Další informace byly získány i terénním výzkumem na provozovně jedné ze společností a kontaktem se zákazníky u společnosti druhé pro získání dalších názorů z jejich pohledu. Velkou roli také hrála zkušenost řešitele v tomto odvětví, jeho pracovní zkušenosti, získané poznatky na provozovnách společností a kontakt s odborníky a zákazníky v tomto odvětví. Naplněním cílů práce byly zjištěny deklarované strategie společností, jejich reálné naplnění a případné výhledy do budoucna jejich strategií a vzájemné porovnání těchto společností a jejich strategií. Výsledky práce jsou vhodné pro společnosti a jejich management k získání pohledu o nich samotných a jejich strategií. Práce může být použita jako základ pro podobné práce a jiné průzkumy v oblasti „business“ strategií v dřevozpracujícím průmyslu.

Abstract:

Main objectives of diploma thesis were analyzation of business strategy and analyzation of differences in implementation of this strategies. Diploma thesis focused on the comparison of two chosen companies which are doing business in the lumber industry. Information needed for achieving the target of the thesis were obtained from qualitative questioning in particular interviews with management and company employees. Other available information was obtained with performed literature research. Further information was obtained by field research in one company and contacting customers at the other company in order to obtain more views on the company from a customers point of view. The big role in order to complete the target of this thesis was experiences of the researcher in this particular industry, his work experiences, knowledge gained by working in Alpha company and contact with experts and customers. Achieved objectives of this work identified the company’s declared business strategy and their implementation in reality. In order to provide these objectives, companies and their strategies were mutually compared. The results of this thesis are Important for companies and their management to gain insight into their business and their strategies, particularly business strategy. The work can be used as a basis for similar works and other surveys in the field of "business" strategies in the lumber industry.
