Specifics of Amnesty International's work in the United States of America and Russia

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá působením Amnesty International ve Spojených státech amerických a v Rusku a zkoumá metody a problémy organizace v těchto odlišných politických prostředích. Práce poskytuje rámcový přehled o mezinárodních nevládních organizacích a zkoumá konkrétní akce a kampaně, které Amnesty International v obou zemích realizuje. Dále práce hodnotí činnost organizace s přihlédnutím k významným událostem a provádí SWOT analýzu, aby porovnala její úsilí v jednotlivých zemích a poukázala na důležité rozdíly v kontextu a strategii.

Abstract:

This thesis examines Amnesty International's work in the United States of America and Russia and explores the organization's methods and problems in these different political environments. The thesis provides a framework overview of international non-governmental organizations and examines specific actions and campaigns that Amnesty International has undertaken in both countries. In addition, the thesis evaluates the organization's work in light of significant events and conducts a SWOT analysis to compare its efforts in each country and highlight important differences in context and strategy.
