Kinetic Processes in Contemporary Art: Return to Mechanical Aesthetic
Abstract:
Diplomová práce se zabývá odmítnutím nových technologických možností v sochařské extenzi. Konkrétně se jedná o manuálně ovládané mechanické sochy od francouzské společnosti La Machine. Ty jsou zkoumány po historické, funkční a estetické stránce. Cílem práce je zjistit důvody navrácení k mechanické estetice v době robotů a programovatelných systémů.
Abstract:
Thesis is focusing on rejecting new technological possibilities in sculptural extension. Specifically, it is dealing with manual control mechanical sculptures by french company La Machine. Those are being examined in historical, functional and aesthetic ways. The goal of the thesis is to find out reasons of returning to mechanical aesthetic in the age of robots and programmable systems.
