Business ethics training of delegates in international travel agencies

Abstract:

This thesis analyses the ethical challenges faced by delegates of international travel agencies, with a specific focus on operations in Bulgaria. The theoretical section defines the foundations of cultural differences based on Hofstede's dimensions, concepts of business ethics, the ethical climate, and the specific characteristics of ethics in tourism. The empirical section employs a mixed-methods research design combining in-depth interviews and a questionnaire survey on situations such as aggressive communication, corruption, internal ethical issues, and sexual harassment. The main contribution of this work is the proposal of a three-phase training model comprising a workshop at the company's headquarters, a practical handbook, and an interactive online course, aimed at strengthening the ethical decision-making and cultural competencies of tour guides at the destination.

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá analýzou etických výzev, kterým čelí delegáti mezinárodních cestovních kanceláří, se specifickým zaměřením na působení v Bulharsku.Teoretická část definuje východiska kulturních rozdílů na základě Hofstedeho dimenzí, koncepty podnikatelské etiky, etického klimatu a specifika etiky v cestovním ruchu. Empirická část využívá smíšený výzkumný design kombinující hloubkové rozhovory a dotazníkové šetření na situace, jako je agresivní komunikace, korupce, interní etické problémy či sexuální obtěžování. Hlavním přínosem práce je návrh třífázového vzdělávacího modelu zahrnujícího praktickou příručku, interaktivní online kurz a workshop v centrále společnosti, který má za cíl posílit etické rozhodování a kulturní kompetence delegátů v cílové destinaci.
