Study of contributing areas of the critical points in localities with the occurrence of flash floods

Abstract:

The main goal of the diploma thesis was to analyze physical-geographical parameters of contributing areas of the critical points, which have been hit by flash floods in the past. The starting point of the study are the defined critical points and their contributing areas in the area of interest in Zlínsky region, along with the database of flash floods in years 1801–2000, to which has then been joined the database of flash floods occurrence in years 2000–2020. A faint positive dependence between the amount of critical points and flash floods occurrences has been determined. Subsequently, bigger focus was aimed to flash floods events in the 21. century. Information about the damages, localities of occurrences and measures of protection have been obtained via phone calls with the towns in question. For 37 of the chosen contributing areas of the critical points, a database of physical-geographical parameters and land use has been made. Area of river basin, slope of the basin, the basin's shape coefficient, length of the talweg, longitudinal slope of the talweg, proportion of arable land, forest area, maximum altitude, Melton index and CNII have been determined as high-risk parameters, causing a formation and a dangerous course of the flash floods. Cluster analysis established four clusters with similar characteristics among the groups. Main component analysis and factor analysis established the quality of variables' representation and relationship between the variables themselves. In the end, a categorization of analyzed localities' hazard has been created. Besides that, high-risk objects of the flow in consideration of flash floods, in Bystřice pod Lopeníkem, has been identified.

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem práce bylo analyzovat fyzicko-geografické parametry přispívajících ploch kritických bodů, které byly v minulosti zasaženy přívalovou povodní. Základním východiskem jsou vymezené kritické body a jejich přispívající plochy (DRBAL a kol., 2009) na zájmovém území Zlínského kraje spolu s databází přívalových povodní 1801–2000 (HALÁSOVÁ, 2020), na kterou bylo v práci navázáno identifikací událostí přívalových povodní v období 2000–2020. Zjištěna byla slabá pozitivní závislost počtu kritických bodů a výskytu přívalových povodní. Následně byla v práci větší pozornost soustředěna na události přívalových povodní v 21. století, pro které byly telefonickým rozhovorem zjištěny informace o způsobených škodách, místě výskytu a opatřeních ochrany před přívalovými povodněmi ze strany dotazovaných obcí. Pro 37 vybraných přispívajících ploch kritických bodů byla vytvořena databáze fyzicko-geografických parametrů a land use. Jako rizikové parametry napomáhající vzniku a nebezpečnému průběhu přívalových povodní byly hodnoceny – plocha povodí, sklon povodí, koeficient tvaru povodí, délka údolnice, podélný sklon údolnice, podíl orné půdy, lesnatost, maximální nadmořská výška, Meltnův index a CNII. Shlukovou analýzou byly vytvořeny 4 klastry s podobnými charakteristikami v rámci skupin. Analýzou hlavních komponent a faktorovou analýzou byla zjištěna kvalita reprezentace proměnnými a souvislost proměnných mezi sebou a v závěru byla vytvořena kategorizace rizika analyzovaných lokalit. Kromě toho byly v Bystřici pod Lopeníkem identifikovány rizikové objekty na toku vzhledem k přívalovým povodním.
