Study of small-scale urban brownfield solutions

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá studií řešení urbánního brownfieldu malého rozsahu. Práce kombinuje teoretickou část s praktickou analytickou analýzou a návrhem, čímž poskytuje komplexní pohled na problematiku přeměny brownfieldů z pohledu krajinářské architektury. V teoretické částí je definován pojem brownfield, zkoumány jsou příčiny jeho vzniku, společenské a enviromentální dopady. Speciální pozornost je věnována roli krajinářské architektury v procesu revitalizace s důrazem na veřejná prostranství a začleňování prvků kulturního dědictví. V praktické části se práce zaměřuje na konkrétní lokalitu v Ostravě, kde autorka práce na základě terénního průzkumu a analýzy stávajícího stavu navrhuje koncepční řešení pro konverzi brownfieldu. Návrh zahrnuje vytvoření multifukčních veřejných prostor a využití udržitelných materiálů. Důležitou součástí návrhu je i začlenění prvků drobné architektury. Cílem práce je nejen navrhnout vizuálně atraktivní a funkčně rozmanité využití konkrétního brownfieldu, ale také ukázat, jak mohou být principy udržitelného designu a krajinářské architektury uplatněny pro revitalizaci městských ploch, zlepšení kvality života ve městě a posílení místní identity.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the study of the solution of a small-scale urban brownfield. The thesis combines the theoretical part with practical analytical analysis and design, thus providing a comprehensive view of the brownfield transformation from the perspective of landscape architecture. The theoretical part defines the concept of brownfield, examines the causes of its creation, social and environmental impacts. Special attention is paid to the role of landscape architecture in the process of revitalisation with emphasis on public spaces and the incorporation of cultural heritage elements. The practical part of the thesis focuses on a specific location in Ostrava, where the author of the thesis proposes a conceptual solution for brownfield conversion based on field research and analysis of the existing situation. The proposal includes the creation of multifunctional public spaces and the use of sustainable materials. An important part of the design is the incorporation of small architectural elements. The aim of the work is not only to propose a visually attractive and functionally diverse use of a specific brownfield site, but also to show how the principles of sustainable design and landscape architecture can be applied to revitalize urban areas, improve the quality of life in the city and strengthen local identity.
