Assessment of promising apricot hybrids from breeding programme of the Department of Fruit Science

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá hodnocením vybraných odrůd meruněk na základě jejich fenologických a pomologických znaků. Výzkum probíhal v letech 2018 a 2019 na plodech ze staniční zkoušky č. 21 na Ústavu ovocnictví, Zahradnické fakulty Mendelovy univerzity v Lednici. Cílem práce bylo hodnocení vybraných fenofází, kvalitativních a kvantitativních znaků plodů a stromů u genotypové kolekce. V práci se pracovalo se světovými odrůdami ʽBohutickáʼ, ʽGoldrichʼ, ʽHarostarʼ, ʽNinjaʼ, ʽMarlenʼ, ʽPinkcotʼ, ʽSamouraiʼ, ʽVelkopavlovickáʼ, ʽWanxingʼ a lednickými hybridy H.848, H.877, H.997/118, H.1000/249, H.981/433, H.998/326, H.990/95, H.980/153, H.996/231, H,999/489, H.988/244, LE-11862, LE-11874, H.997/140, H.987/490, H.990/177, H.980/110, H.1000, H.980/74, H.998/112, H.981/418, H.1000/151. Jednotlivé znaky se hodnotily podle klasifikátoru pro druh Prunus armeniaca L. Teoretická část se zabývá původem a rozšířením meruněk, botanickým popisem a příbuznými druhy, historií šlechtění meruněk, šlechtěním meruněk v ČR a ve světě, látkovým složením meruněk a jejich zdravotním významem. Výsledky získané z hodnocení byly přeneseny do tabulek a grafů.

Abstract:

This Diploma Thesis deals with the assessment of selected varieties of apricots based on their phenological and pomological features. The research took place in the years 2018 and 2019 on fruit specimens from station exam n. 21 at the Department of Fruit Science of the MENDELU Faculty of Horticulture in Lednice. The objective of the Thesis is to assess selected phenophases, qualitative and quantitative features of fruits and trees of the genotype collection. The Thesis works with the following internationally recognized apricot varieties: ʽBohutickáʼ, ʽGoldrichʼ, ʽHarostarʼ, ʽNinjaʼ, ʽMarlenʼ, ʽPinkcotʼ, ʽSamouraiʼ, ʽVelkopavlovickáʼ, ʽWanxingʼ. The hybrid varieties H.848, H.877, H.997/118, H.1000/249, H.981/433, H.998/326, H.990/95, H.980/153, H.996/231, H,999/489, H.988/244, LE-11862, LE-11874, H.997/140, H.987/490, H.990/177, H.980/110, H.1000, H.980/74, H.998/112, H.981/418, and H.1000/151 brood in Lednice are also subject to analysis. The individual features were assessed according to the Prunus armeniaca L. classifier. The theoretical section deals with the origins and means of distribution of apricots, botanical description and cognate species, the history of apricot breeding, apricot breeding in the Czech Republic and around the world, the substance composition of apricots, and with the relevance of apricots for human health. The results obtained through the assessment are cathegorized into charts and graphs.
