Studium spolehlivosti technických systémů představuje jednu za základních aplikací matematiky a to především teorie náhodných procesů. V předložené dizertační práci se pomocí náhodných procesů zabývám modelováním jevu, který bývá obvykle nazýván degradace technického systému.
