Qualitative research of attachment relationships in homoparental families

Abstract:

Tato kvalitativní exploratorní studie se zabývala citovou vazbou ve třech plánovaných homoparentálních rodinách. V polostrukturovaných rozhovorech šest matek hovořilo o svých dětech ve věku 20-28 měsíců. Na základě analýzy citově-vazebního chování se můžeme domnívat, že se u všech dětí vyvinula citová vazba k oběma matkám. Všechny děti projevily různé formy citově-vazebního chování, které v některých situacích bylo směrem k matkám jinak kvalitní. V nenaléhavých situacích děti neprojevovaly preferenci pro jednu nebo druhou matku, ale v naléhavých situacích preferovaly matku biologickou. Proto můžeme uvažovat o tom, že biologická matka je v hierarchii citové vazby výše. Proměnné, které možná ovlivňují tuto preferenci, jsou komplexní a mohou se v různých kontextech lišit. Přesto se zdá, že biologické faktory, jako porod nebo kojení, jsou s touto preferencí spojeny. Z předchozích výzkumů homoparentálních rodin vyplývá, že čas strávený s dítětem nemusí na preferenci mít vliv, což je v tomto výzkumu potvrzeno.

Abstract:

This qualitative exploratory study investigated attachment relationships in three planned homoparental families. In a semi-structured interview, six mothers talked about their children in the age of 20-28 months. Basing on the attachment behaviour analysis, it seems that all children developed an attachment to both mothers. The children exhibited several forms of attachment behaviour to both mothers, which differed in quality in some situations. Even though the children did not show preference in non-emergent situations, they did show a preference for the biological mother in emergent situations. Therefore, it seems that biological mothers were higher in the attachment hierarchy. Variables possibly influencing this preference are complex and may differ in various contexts, but biological factors like birth and breastfeeding are clearly connected with the attachment preference for the biological mother. Assumptions from the previous research on homoparental families were confirmed, when the connection between the time spent with children and the attachment preference was not found.
