Abstract:

KMEŤOVÁ, Andrea. Role zahraniční pomoci v potravinové bezpečnosti vybraných afrických zemí. Brno, 2021. Diplomová práce. Mendelova univerzita, Fakulta regionálního rozvoje a mezinárodních studií. Vedoucí diplomové práce: doc. MVDr. Helena Modrá, Ph.D. Diplomová práce je zaměřena na vývoj stavu potravinové bezpečnosti a na objem zahraniční pomoci ve vybraných zemích afrického kontinentu v letech 2012–2019.Cílem této práce je analyzovat význam zahraniční pomoci v otázce stavu potravinové bezpečnosti v Etiopii, Keni a Ugandě. Pro tento cíl byly analyzovány finanční prostředky největších aktérů oficiální rozvojové spolupráce, společně s objemem finančních prostředků mezinárodních organizací při OSN, které se podílejí na rozvoji v jednotlivých státech. Následně byl také zmapován vývoj stavu potravinové bezpečnosti ve vybraných afrických zemích prostřednictvím Globálního Indexu Potravinové Bezpečnosti. Z vybraných zemí ve stavu potravinové bezpečnosti nejvíce zaostává Etiopie. Existence závislosti mezi potravinovou bezpečností a finančními prostředky zahraniční rozvojové spolupráce byla zjišťována pomocí korelace. Výsledky korelační analýzy nevykazují známky závislosti. Výjimkou je Keňa, u které se projevila záporná závislost. Dalším cílem této práce byla komparace potravinové bezpečnosti v jednotlivých zemích. Komparace byla provedena na základě GFSI a jeho dimenzí. V práci jsou také uvedeny faktory, které ovlivňují potravinovou bezpečnost na vybraném území. Na závěr je v práci hodnocena míra důležitosti zahraniční pomoci na stavu potravinové pomoci.

MVDr. Helena Modrá, Ph.D. This diploma thesis is focused on the evolution of the food security situation and the volume of foreign aid in selected countries on the African continent between 2012 and 2019. The aim of this work is to analyse the importance of foreign aid in the food security situation in Ethiopia, Kenya and Uganda. For this purpose, the financial resources of the major actors of official development cooperation were analyzed, together with the volume of funding of international organizations under the United Nations that are involved in development in each country. Subsequently, the evolution of the food security situation in selected African countries was also mapped through the Global Food Security Index. Among the selected countries, Ethiopia is the most lagging in the state of food security. The existence of a dependence between food security and foreign development cooperation funding was established through correlation. The results of the correlation analysis show no signs of dependency. Except Kenya, which showed a negative dependency. Another objective of this diploma thesis was to compare food security across countries. The comparison was done based on the GFSI and its dimensions. The thesis also presents the factors that affect food security in the selected area. Finally, the thesis assesses the importance of foreign aid on the food security situation.
