The scythe as an ecological alternative to the brush cutter for mowing

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce pojednává o problematice využití kosy jako nástroje pro vyžínání buřeně. V rámci teoretických východisek jsou charakterizovány nástroje na potlačování buřeně s tím, že důraz je kladen především na komplexní charakteristiku kos a všech potřebných úkonů sloužících k její údržbě aplikovaných na specifika lesního hospodaření. Praktická část práce představuje porovnání tří druhů kos s křovinořezem pomocí exaktně měřených veličin při vyžínání zkusných ploch. Výsledky této bakalářské práce ukázaly, že kosa je schopna konkurovat křovinořezu z hlediska efektivity práce a z hlediska kvality vyžnutí dosahuje lepších výsledků.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of using scythe as a tool for weed control. Within the theoretical framework, tools for weed suppression are characterized, with emphasis primarily on the comprehensive characterization of scythes and all necessary maintenance tasks applied to the specifics of forestry management. The practical part of the thesis presents a comparison of three types of scythes with a brush cutter using precisely measured parameters during the mowing of test areas. The results of this bachelor's thesis showed that the scythe is able to compete with the brush cutter in terms of work efficiency, and it achieves even better results in terms of the quality of mowing.
