Granitic pegmatites of the Třebíč Pluton; distribution, geological position and mineralogy

Abstract:

Variský třebíčský pluton je tvořen ultradraselnými granitoidy – durbachity. Hojné intragranitické NYF pegmatity vznikly krystalizací reziduálních tavenin tohoto plutonu. NYF pegmatity vykazují různé stavební a mineralogické rysy. Mapování pegmatitů v rámci třebíčského plutonu a jejich detailní studie, obnášející prostorovou distribuci uvnitř plutonu, geologickou pozici v rámci mateřského tělesa (stavba, textury, vztah k okolní hornině, povaha okolní horniny) a mineralogická povaha pegmatitů včetně studia vybraných minerálů, v porovnání s geofyzikálními vlastnostmi plutonu, pomohly objasnit, jak vzájemně na sobě tyto parametry závisí. Výsledky terénních prací ukázaly poměrně úzkou vazbu pegmatitů na tektonické bloky třebíčského plutonu – tzv. segmenty – s nejvyšší radioaktivitou a reziduálními tíhovými anomáliemi. Studium staveb pegmatitových těles a jejich minerálních asociací odhalilo existenci tří hlavních stavebních typů a několika mineralogických typů pegmatitů, které z velké části vzájemně korespondují s geologickou pozicí v plutonu. Zonální vývoj distribuce NYF pegmatitů je v porovnání s pegmatitovými populacemi ve světě neobvyklý. Rovněž i minerální asociace, vyplývající z metaluminické a ultradraselné povahy durbachitů, je unikátní, zahrnující běžné minerály s neobvyklým složením (minerály skupiny berylu, turmalínu, helvínu-danalitu), minerály vzácné a také minerály aspirující na zcela nové. Na základě všech těchto poznatků je patrné, že magmatický a tektonický vývoj třebíčského plutonu byl složitější, než je z dostupné literatury patrné a že minerální asociace NYF pegmatitů reflektuje neobvyklý chemismus mateřského plutonu.

Abstract:

Variscan Třebíč Pluton is built up by ultrapotassic granitoids – durbachites. Abundant intragranitic NYF pegmatites crystallized from residual melts of this plutonic body. NYF pegmatites show variable textural and mineralogical features. Field survey of the Třebíč Pluton pegmatites and their detailed characterization, including distribution and geological position within the pluton (fabric, textures, relationship to host rock, host rock lithology), mineralogical features of pegmatites including study of selected minerals and correlation with geophysical patterns of the pluton helped us to decipher the mutual relations of these parameters. Results from the field survey showed rather close relationship between pegmatite populations and the tectonic blocks of the Třebíč Pluton, so called segments, which have the highest radioactivity and the highest residual gravity anomalies. Based on study of fabrics and mineralogy of the pegmatite bodies, three main textural types and several mineralogical types of pegmatites, mostly depending on their geological position, were recognized. Zonal evolution of pegmatite distribution represents an unusual feature within NYF pegmatites population worldwide. Mineralogical characteristics, resulting from metaluminous and ultrapotassic nature of the source durbachites, are unique, including common minerals with unusual composition (beryl, tourmaline and helvine-danalite mineral groups), rare minerals and new, unknown phases, as well. Based on current knowledge, it is evident, that magmatic and tectonic evolution of the Třebíč Pluton was more complicated, than what is reported in available literature and that the unusual mineral assemblage of the NYF pegmatites reflects the unique composition of the parental pluton.
