Finnish comparative and superlative forms and its difficulty for non-native speakers

Abstract:

Tématem této práce je finský komparativ a superlativ v morfologickém pohledu. Teoretická část práce se věnuje popisu základních pojmů, které s problematikou gradace souvisejí. Zároveň je v teoretické části popsán způsob tvorby komparačních tvarů a okrajově je věnována pozornost i způsobu jejich použití. Druhou část práce tvoří popis a porovnání učebnic zabývajících se problematikou gradace a výzkumný test. Ten byl vyplněn studenty finštiny s cílem zjistit, jak problematice komparativu a superlativu rozumí a co jim při studiu činí potíže.

Abstract:

The topic of this thesis is the finnish comparative and superlative form from the morphologic perspective. The theoretical part deals with description of the basic terms that are associated with the problematics of gradation. It also describes the way of forming comparative and superlative forms and marginally it describes the use of comparative and superlative forms. The practical part consists of descripction and comparison of textbooks which deal with the problematics of gradation and test's evaluations filled by foreign students of Finnish language. The aim is to ascertain how students understand forming of the comparative and superlative form and what makes them problems.
