The image of a legionnaire at the turn of the 20th and 21st centuries in the public space of the Czech republic

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá obrazem československého legionáře ve společnosti na přelomu 20. a 21. století. Představí československé legie a jejich historii, mapuje veřejný prostor a snaží se najít oblasti, ve kterých je pojem legionáře stále skloňován. Práce také přihlédne k meziválečnému období a pohledu tehdejší doby na osobu legionáře, a to napříč veřejným prostorem. Druhá část práce přechází k didaktickým a projektovým aktivitám, představení uměleckého prostoru či využití významných osob z řad legionářů a jejím cílem je vytvoření projektového dne a pracovních materiálů do výuky dějepisu pro žáky 9. ročníků základních škol. Cílem mé práce je spojení badatelské a didaktické činnosti v rámci výuky. Snaha o aktivní zapojení žáků. A zmapování veřejného prostoru vzhledem k vnímání pojmu legionáře.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on the picture of a Czechoslovak legionnaire within society at the turn of the twentieth and the twenty-first century. Czechoslovak legions and their history are introduced in the first part. It surveys the public sector and attempts to find the areas in which the notion of a legionnaire is involved. It has also a respect to the interwar period and the contemporary era perspective of the person of the legionnaire across the public sector. The second part of this thesis focuses on the didactic and project activities, the introduction of the art sphere and the use of the individuals from among the legionnaires. The aim of the second part is to create a project day and a working material to be used for an educational purpose for the 9th grade elementary school students. The overall aims of this thesis are to connect the research and didactic activities in the education, to enhance the active pupil involvement and to survey the public sector with respect to the notion of the term legionnaire.
