The reform of the Czech pension system and its consequences

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce si klade za cíl nastínit komplexní problematiku tuzemských i světových penzijních systémů a jejich reforem. V kontextu České republiky je téma přiblíženo skrze analýzu penzijních reforem již proběhlých - konkrétně se jedná o tzv. Malé a Velké penzijní reformy, včetně jejich momentálních důsledků i budoucích dopadů. Na základě dat dostupných z Českého statistického úřadu a Organizace pro hospodářskou spolupráci a rozvoj a dle aktuální situace je odhadnut možný budoucí vývoj penzijního systému jako takového. Proběhlé penzijní reformy přinesly mnohá vylepšení, která systém lépe zabezpečila v rámci možností, často ale také vnesly do systému jisté negativní aspekty. Přínosy zmíněných reforem jsou diametrálně odlišné pro účastníky a pro stát

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the pension system of the Czech Republic and those of the world. It contains an analysis of the older reforms of the system - to be specific, the Big and the Small Pension Reforms, and their impact in both, the present and the future state of things. Using the data available from The Czech Statistical Office and The Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development and with observation of the current situation, this bachelor thesis tries to predict possible evolution of the system itself. The reforms of the past brought many updates and some relief to the system, but, more often than not, they also brought some new negative aspects of their own. The final benefits of the before mentioned reforms are often vastly different when being judged by the state or by the eyes of their direct participants.
