Occupational Therapy Treatment in a Patient with Peripheral Palsy of the Facial Nerve

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou a rehabilitační péči u periferní parézy n. facialis z pohledu ergoterapeuta. Celá práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. První část je teoretická, která se zabývá oborem ergoterapie, zaměřuje se na poruchy periferního systému a v neposlední řadě se věnuje anatomickým a neurologickým poznatkům z oblasti periferní parézy lícního nervu a její prognózou. Druhá část je praktická a je rozdělená na část speciální a kazuistiku. Speciální část se zaměřuje na obecné rady a možnosti využití běžných denních aktivit jak u mužů, tak u žen a na celkovou rehabilitační péči. Kazuistika obsahuje práci s pacientem, průběh a vyhodnocení rehabilitace a fotografickou dokumentaci. Závěr práce je doplněn o diskuzi, kde uvádím své osobní zkušenosti s touto diagnózou. Cílem této bakalářské práce je zlepšení zdravotního stavu pacienta a využití možností v rámci denních aktivit, které by mohly přispět k rychlejšímu úspěchu léčby.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the care and rehabilitation of peripheral facial paresis in terms of therapist. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part is theoretical, which deals with the field of occupational therapy, focuses on disorders of the peripheral system, and finally deals with anatomical and neurological findings of the peripheral facial nerve paresis and its prognosis. The second part is practical and is divided into special and a case report. A special section focuses on general council and the possibilities of normal daily activities for both men and women overall and rehabilitative care. Case history includes work with the patient, conduct and evaluation of rehabilitation and photographic documentation. The conclusion of this work is complemented by a discussion where I mention my personal experience with this diagnosis. The aim of this work is to improve the health of the patient, and the opportunities within the daily activities that could contribute to more rapid success of treatment.
