Abstract:

Romové. Nejpočetnější etnická menšina v naší zemi. V České a Slovenské republice jich žije přes půl milionu. Více než polovina z nich pobývá na místech, kde chybí zá-kladní životní podmínky. Děti a mládež z těchto lokalit se každodenně potýkají s ab-sencí primárních existenčních nezbytností, jako dostatek kvalitního jídla, pevná stře-cha nad hlavou či dostupnost pitné vody. V důsledku toho, si nemohou dovolit takový luxus, jako například rozvíjet svůj hudební nebo jiný talent, či možnost hodnotného vzdělávání. Ida Kelarová, spolu se svým životním partnerem Desideriem Duždou, se prostřednictvím svého neziskového spolku MIRET snaží těmto dětem pomáhat. Tím, že jim otevřou jiný svět, dokáží měnit jejich pohled na život a existenční možnosti. Svou podporou motivují a dále rozvíjejí potenciál a talent těchto mladých Romů. Ti tak dostávají šanci změnit směřování svého života, často předurčené nepříznivými životními okolnostmi. Díky tomu znovu nalézají cestu ke své bohaté kultuře a stávají se sebevědomými lidmi. Praktickým důkazem úspěšnosti tohoto alternativního modelu vzdělávání romských dětí a mládeže je Čhavorenge. Čhavorenge je dětský romský sbor, který Ida Kelarová založila na podporu dětí, je-jichž životní podmínky nedávají naději plně rozvinout jejich potenciál, a žít život podle svých představ. Cílem mé práce je přiblížit práci Idy Kelarové a jejího souboru Čhavorenge, ale také snaha pomoci k pochopení naší největší minoritní společnosti – Romů – prostřednictvím seznámení s jejich historií a kulturou. Téma romské otázky a inspirativního přínosu romské kultury pro českou majoritní společnost je stále více aktuální. Ida Kelarová nám prostřednictvím svého sboru Čhavorenge přináší v ryzí, živelné podobě romskou hudbu, umocněnou vědomím prokázaných pozitivních sociálních dopadů na členy souboru. Hudba, která se řine z pódia při koncertě Čhavorenge, navíc zesílená hudebním doprovodem České filharmonie, pak působí na posluchače přímo magicky. Ve snaze o uchopení dané problematiky se opírám o množství literatury s tématem dějin, tradic a folklóru romského etnika a poslechem jeho hudby. Nedílnou součástí mého úsilí o bližší obeznámení s myšlenkou podpory mladých znevýhodněných Romů, bylo osobní setkání s Idou Kelarovou, jejím partnerem Desideriem Duždou a dramaturgem vzdělávacích pořadů České filharmonie Petrem Kadlecem. Byl to právě Petr Kadlec, který s myšlenkou spolupráce souboru s Českou filharmonií Idu Kelarovou oslovil. Díky součinnosti s Českou filharmonií je Čhavorenge a jeho odkaz skutečně slyšet. A to doslova. Ve své práci dále upozorňuji na specifika romské rodiny a společnosti v přístupu ke vzdělávání, ale i překážky školního systému většinové společnosti, vycházející z ne-pochopení kulturních odlišností Romů a mnohdy přetrvávajících rasistických tendencí. Řešení zlepšení přístupu k romské minoritě a zkvalitnění vzájemných vztahů se nabí-zí v bližším propojení našich kultur a jejich důslednějším poznávání. Na základě toho můžeme začít měnit pohled na sebe navzájem. Zvláště romská hudebnost a hudba jsou pomyslným mostem mezi našimi dvěma společnostmi, který by nás mohl spojit

Abstract:

The Romani people. The most numerous ethnic minority in our country. Over half a million of them live in the Czech and Slovak Republics. More than half of them live in places where basic living conditions are lacking. Children and youth from these localities are faced with the absence of necessities of everyday life, such as sufficient quality food, a solid roof over their heads or the availability of drinking water. As a result, they cannot afford basic luxuries such as developing their musical talents or attaining an education. Ida Kelar, along with her life partner Desiderio Dužda, tries to help these children through her non-profit association MIRET. By opening another new world to them, they are able to change their outlook on life and existential possibilities. With their support, they motivate and further develop the potential and talent of these young Romani people. They thus get a chance to change the direction of their lives, often predetermined by adverse life circumstances. In this way, they find their way back to their rich culture and become self-confident people. Čhavorenge is a practical proof of the success of this alternative model of education for Romani children and youth. Čhavorenge is a Romani children's choir founded by Ida Kelarová to help these children develop their potential and live according to their dreams. The aim of my thesis is not only to highlight the work of Ida Kelar and her ensemble Čhavorenge, but also an effort to understand the largest minority in our society - the Romani people - through getting to know their history and culture. The topic of the Romani issue and the inspirational contribution of the Romani culture to Czech society is increasingly relevant. Through her Čhavorenge choir, Ida Kelar brings us Romani music in its pure, elemental form, enhanced by the awareness of proven positive social impacts on the members of the ensemble. The music that pours from the stage during the Čhavorenge concert, additionally amplified by the musical accompaniment of the Czech Philharmonic, has a magical effect on the listeners. To understand the given issue, I rely on literature exploring the history, traditions and folklore of the Roma and listening to their music. An integral part of my efforts to become more familiar with the idea of supporting young disadvantaged Roma, was a personal meeting with Ida Kelarová, her partner Desiderius Dužda and the dramaturg of the Czech Philharmonic's educational programs Petr Kadlec. It was Petr Kadlec himself, who approached Ida Kelarová with the idea of the ensemble's collaboration with the Czech Philharmonic. Through this collaboration, Čhavorenge and its legacy can really be heard. In my work, I also draw attention to the specifics of the Romani family and society in access to education, as well as the obstacles of the Czech school system, based on a misunderstanding of the cultural differences of the Romani people and often persistent racist tendencies in the Czech Republic. The solution to improve the access to the Roma minority and improving the quality of mutual relations is offered in a closer connection of our cultures and a more thorough understanding of them. Based on this, we can begin to change the way we look at each other. Romani musicality and music is a bridge between our two societies that could help unite us.
