Financial management of a non-profit organization

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá neziskovým sektorem a různými formami organizací, které v něm působí. Je možné, aby neziskové organizace fungovali bez evropských nebo státních dotací? To byl důvod, proč největší prostor dostalo sociální družstvo, jelikož u této formy neziskové organizace je možné jeho existenci financovat výhradně pomocí vlastní činnosti. To umožňuje hodnotné srovnání s jiným podnikem, který však působí v ziskovém sektoru. Praktická část je vytvořena výhradně z materiálů poskytnutých od samotné organizace Sociální družstvo Střecha. Při soukromém setkání a nahrávaném hovoru byly poskytnuty další informace o fungování družstva, které jsou v teoretické části práce. Výsledkem práce je detailní zpracování finančního managementu neziskové organizace a jeho srovnání s organizací klasickou. Tato práce poukazuje na skutečnost, že organizace může fungovat úspěšně i v případě, že hlavní motivací není finanční zisk.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the non-profit sector and the various forms of organizations operating in it. Is it possible for non-profit organizations to operate without European or state subsidies? This is the reason why the social cooperative received the most space. This is the form of non-profit organization which is able to finance its existence exclusively through its own activities. This allows a valuable comparison with another business, which operates in the profit sector. The practical part is created exclusively from the material provided by the organization Sociální družstvo Střecha. During a private meeting and a recorded call, more information was provided on the functioning of the cooperative, which is included in the theoretical part of the work. The result of this work is a detailed processing of the financial management of a non-profit organization and its comparison with a classical organization. This thesis points out that an organization can function well even if financial gains are not its main motivation.
