Gender inflection by sufixation/conversion and so-called gender correctness

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá problematikou genderové korektnosti, se kterou je úzce spojeno i přechylování příjmení. Její teoretická část se zaměřuje na výklad o přechylování příjmení a také teoretickým základem pro přechylování. Dále se práce soustředí na pojem gender, který je rozebírán společně s genderovou kulturou, genderovými stereotypy a generickým maskulinem. Výzkumná část práce je formou případové studie, která byla realizována formou dotazníkového šetření. Toto šetření se týkalo přechylování a nepřechylování příjmení, společně s užíváním generického maskulina. Zpracování výsledků analýzy bylo realizováno v souladu s výzkumnými otázkami, které byly uvedenu v úvodu práce.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of gender correctness, which is closely connected with the inflection of surnames. The theoretical part of the paper focuses on the interpretation of surname relabelling and the theoretical basis for relabelling. Furthermore, the thesis focuses on the concept of gender, which is discussed together with gender culture, gender stereotypes and generic masculinities. The research part of the thesis is in the form of a case study, which was conducted through a questionnaire survey. This investigation was about the inflection and non-inflection of surnames, along with the use of generic masculinities. The processing of the results of the analysis was carried out in accordance with the research questions that were stated in the introduction of the thesis.
