Comparison of Security Frameworks from the Perspective of User Security and Usable Security

Anotace:

Cílem této práce je analyzovat a porovnat vybrané kyberbezpečnostní rámce z pohledu uživatelské a použitelné bezpečnosti a uplatnit tato zjištění v prostředí Masarykovy univerzity. Práce se zaměřuje na SANS Security Awareness Maturity Model, KnowBe4 Security Culture Maturity Model, NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO/IEC 27001 a Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model. SANS Security Awareness Maturity Model je následně využit k posouzení aktuálního stavu bezpečnostního povědomí na Masarykově univerzitě a k identifikaci klíčových oblastí pro zlepšení. Výstupem práce je srovnávací matice rámců a sada doporučení ke zvýšení bezpečnostního povědomí na univerzitě a zlepšení použitelnosti vybraných bezpečnostních opatření.

Abstract:

The aim of this thesis is to analyze and compare selected cybersecurity frameworks from the perspective of user security and usable security, and apply these findings to the specific context of Masaryk University. It focuses on the SANS Security Awareness Maturity Model, the KnowBe4 Security Culture Maturity Model, the NIST Cybersecurity Framework, ISO/IEC 27001, and the Cybersecurity Capability Maturity Model. The SANS Security Awareness Maturity Model is then applied to assess the current state of security awareness at Masaryk University and to identify key areas for improvement. The outcomes of the thesis include a framework comparison matrix and recommendations to improve the university’s cybersecurity awareness and the usability of selected security measures.
