Religious Customs and Traditions in Roma´s life

Abstract:

Cílem diplomová práce je podat ucelený vhled do romských tradic a zvyků, které ovlivňují život tohoto svébytného etnika, a sice v zájmu o jejich lepší pochopení v majoritní společnosti. Diplomová práce přináší pohled na romské tradice i na jejich postoj k víře a náboženství, který je založen na přírodně animistickém základě. Součástí religiozity jsou také romské poutě, kterým je věnována jedna kapitola. V diplomové práci se věnujeme jednotlivým zvykům a tradicím, které se vážou ke svatbě, k narození dítěte, křtu a pohřbívání. Zvláštní kapitola je také věnována věštění jako tradičnímu romskému řemeslu.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis is to give an insight into Roma traditions and customs that affect the life of this peculiar ethnic group, namely the sake of their better understanding of the com-pany majority-ness. The diploma thesis gives an insight into the Roma traditions and their attitude to faith and religious-womanhood, which is based on natural animistic basis. Part of religiosity are also Roma pilgrimage in which a chapter is devoted. The thesis deals with the various customs and traditions that bind to the wedding, a birth, baptism and burial. A special chapter is devoted to divination as traditional Roma craft.
