Impressionism and Paris in the end of the nineteenth century

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá impresionismem v kontextu pařížské společnosti na konci 19. století. Nejprve je pozornost věnována Francii od druhé poloviny 19. století. Zohledněna je rovněž salonní praxe a pařížská umělecká kritika. Další část přibližuje zrod impresionismu a jeho inspirační zdroje, dále pak následuje kapitola věnovaná impresionistickým výstavám a práce je zakončena zánikem impresionismu.

Abstract:

The bachelors thesis is about impressionism in the context of Paris society in the late 19th century. Intially this thesis deals wth France from the second half of the 19th century. The Salon practice and the Paris art critique are also put into consideration. The next part focuses on the birth of impressionism and its sources of inspiration. The next chapter containing information about impressionist exhibitions and the end of the thesis is part about the demise of impressionism.
