Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the private eye in contemporary American crime literature. Theoretical part describes its history, basic terminology and authors and examples of their works. Practical part describes main characters of the books, their investigative methods, and places where the books are set.

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá postavou soukromého očka v současné americké kriminální literatuře. Teoretická část popisuje jeho historii, základní terminologii, autory a ukázky jejich děl. Praktická část popisuje hlavní postavy knih, jejich vyšetřovací metody a místa, kde se knihy odehrávají.
