Nudity in Film: The Prague Orgy versus Borders of Love

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se věnuje reflexi vyobrazení nahoty ve filmu, a to konkrétně na příkladu dvou českých celovečerních hraných snímků Pražské orgie a Hranice lásky. Text se zaměřuje na vyprávění (témata, motivy a postavy) a stylové řešení daných snímků ve vztahu k tématu nahotě. Dílčí analýzy se zaměřují na komparaci zobrazování nahoty v úvodních scénách, midpointu a závěrečných scénách. Praktickou část tvoří rozhovory s režiséry analyzovaných filmů (Irena Pavlásková, Tomasz Wiński), které se zaměřují na téma nahoty v českých filmech z pohledů režiséra a režisérky a jejich práci s herci v intimních scénách.

Abstract:

The thesis focuses on the reflection of the depiction of nudity in film, specifically on the example of two Czech feature films, The Prague Orgy and Borders of Love. The text focuses on the narrative (themes, motifs and characters) and stylistic design of the films in relation to the theme of nudity. Sub-analyses focus on the comparison of the depiction of nudity in the opening scenes, the midpoint and the final scenes. The practical part consists of interviews with the directors of the analysed films (Irena Pavlásková, Tomasz Wiński), which focus on the theme of nudity in Czech films from the perspectives of the director and the director's work with actors in intimate scenes.
