Image of the old and the new continent in the novel Oublier Palerme by Edmonde Charles-Roux
Abstract:
The thesis deals with the confrontation of two different worlds, Sicily and New York, on the basis of the novel Oublier Palerme by French writer Edmonde Charles-Roux. The comparison is effected especially throughout analysis of the stereotypes of Sicilians and Americans and their relations to the old and the new continent.
Abstract:
Práca sa zaoberá porovnávaním dvoch odlišných svetov, Sicílie a New-Yorku, na základe románu Oublier Palerme od francúzskej spisovateľky Edmonde Charles-Roux. Komparácia sa realizuje predovšetkým prostredníctvom analýzy stereotypov Sicílčanov a Američanov a ich vzťahov k starému a novému kontinentu.
