The father at birth

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřena na téma Otec u porodu. Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a část praktickou. Teoretická část je věnovaná těhotenství, porodu, dále pak historii přítomnosti otce u porodu. Jsou zde zmíněny výhody vyplývající z přítomnosti otce u porodu a naopak i možná rizika, která mohou ovlivnit průběh porodu. Dále jsem se zaměřila na to, jak porod může ovlivnit partnerský život. V poslední kapitole se věnuji právní problematice otce u porodu. Cílem průzkumu v praktické části, bylo zjistit samotné pocity otce z porodu. Také se zabývám otázkou spokojenosti s chováním a kvalitou komunikace zdravotnického personálu s přítomnými muži. V neposlední řadě mne zajímalo, jestli předchozí porod ovlivnil partnerské soužití a sexuální život. K získání potřebných dat a dalšímu analyzování, sloužil nestandardizovaný dotazník, který obsahoval 20 otázek, jak otevřených tak uzavřených. Předmětem průzkumného šetření bylo 110 respondentů, kteří se zúčastnili porodu v Městské nemocnici v Ostravě a ve Vítkovické nemocnici v období od 7.2.2013 ? 31.3.2013. Výsledky průzkumu jsou znázorněny v tabulkách a dále shrnuty v diskuzi.

Abstract:

This bachelor?s thesis deals with the topic of ?Father?s Presence at Birth.? The thesis is divided into two parts: theoretical and research one. The first part provides a theoretical introduction to the pregnancy, birth, and history of fathers at birth. This part also examines both advantages of father?s presence at birth and potential risks that may have effect on the course of a birth. Further, I reviewed how a birth may affect the quality of life of couples. The last chapter deals with the legal issues. The aim of the research part was to discover the feelings of a father present at the birth. In this part, I also deal with the level of satisfaction with behaviour and communication of medical staff. Last but not least, I review how the childbirth affected the life of couples in general and whether it has had effect on their sexual life. For the collection of reliable data and further analysis, I used a non-standardised questionnaire that consisted of both 20 open-ended and closed-ended questions. The subject of the survey comprised of 110 respondents who attended the birth in the Ostrava City Hospital and Vítkovice Hospital in the period from February 7, 2013 to March 31, 2013. The results of the survey are shown in the tables.
