Táto práca úzko súvisí s vývojom platformy e-cyanobacterium.org. Jej cieľom bolo vytvorenie modulu vyhľadávania génových informácií pre túto platformu. Na začiatku práce sú predstavené základné biologické a informatické východiská, dôležité pre jej pochopenie.
