Effect of Post Harvest Treatment on Quantity of Essential Oil in Selected Lamiaceae families

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce srovnává obsah silice ve třech druzích léčivých rostlin – Origanum vulgare, Mentha x piperita a Salvia officinalis. V literární části se zabývá charakteristikou silic a jednotlivých vybraných druhů. Dále také faktory ovlivňující množství silice a způsob posklizňové úpravy. V praktické části pak hodnotí obsah silic pomocí destilace v čerstvém a sušeném rostlinném materiálu ve vybraných druzích. Nejvyšší obsah v čerstvé i sušené podobě vykazovala Mentha x piperita, která obsahova-la jako čerstvá 12,91 ml.kg-1 a sušená 14,35 ml.kg-1. Nejnižší obsah byl zjištěn u Origanum vulgare, v čerstvém stavu 1,87 ml.kg-1 a 3.79 ml.kg-1 v sušeném stavu. Salvia officinalis obsahovala v čerstvém stavu 5,05 ml.kg-1 a v sušeném stavu 6,39 ml.kg-1.

Abstract:

This thesis compere content of essential oil in tree species medical plant – Origanum vulgare, Mentha x piperita a Salvia officinalis. Literary section characterize essential oil, and selected species, next the factor influence quantity of es-sential oil and post-harvest treatment. The Practical part then evaluates the content of essential oils by distillation in fresh and dried plant materiál in selected species. The highest content reported Mentha x piperita, in fresh condition 12,91 ml.kg-1 and in dried condition 14,35 ml.kg-1. The lowest content showed Origanum vulgare, in fresh con-dition 1,87 ml.kg-1, in dried condition 3,79 ml.kg-1. Salvia officinalis contained in fresh condition 5,05 ml.kg-1 and in dried condition 6,39 ml.kg-1.
