Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá překladem knihy A Clockwork Orange (Mechanický pomeranč) od Anthonyho Burgesse. Práce sestává z praktické části, jež obsahuje překlad počátečních čtyř kapitol knihy, zatímco část teoretická nejdříve poskytuje teoretické pozadí pro překlad obecně, využívajíc díla teoretiků Petera Newmarka, Jiřího Levého a Dagmar Knittlové, a následně analyzuje překlad s přihlédnutím k idiolektu hlavní postavy.

Abstract:

This Bachelor’s thesis deals with the translation of the book A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess. The thesis consists of a practical part containing the translation of the first four chapters of the book, while the theoretical part firstly provides theoretical background for translation in general, mostly using the works of theoreticians Peter Newmark, Jiří Levý and Dagmar Knittlová, and secondly analyses the translation with a special regard to the idiolect of the main character.
