This master's thesis examines the monumental painting of southern Caucasus, concretely in today’s Armenia, Georgia and Turkey. In apses of churches which were dated into various stages of the seventh century there are depictions of standing Christ, enthroned open book or an enthroned Christ, accompanied by figures of apostles and prophets.
