Anotace:

Diplomová práca sa zaoberá monumentálnou maľbou ranného stredoveku na Južnom Kaukaze, konkrétne v Arménsku, Gruzínsku a Turecku. V apsidách kostolov datovaných do siedmeho storočia sa nachádzajú obrazy stojaceho krista so zvitkom, otvorenej knihy na tróne a tróniaceho Krista, doprevádzané figúrami apoštolov a prorokov. Táto diplomová práca analyzuje ikonografiu týchto obrazov a vkladá ich do ich historického a teologického kontextu.

Abstract:

This master's thesis examines the monumental painting of southern Caucasus, concretely in today’s Armenia, Georgia and Turkey. In apses of churches which were dated into various stages of the seventh century there are depictions of standing Christ, enthroned open book or an enthroned Christ, accompanied by figures of apostles and prophets. This thesis analyzes the iconography in order to put the images into their historical and doctrinal context.
