The game as a means of development of social competences of psychologically deprived children

Abstract:

ANOTACE Diplomová práce „Hra jako prostředek rozvoje sociálních kompetencí dětí s psychickou deprivací" analyzuje možnost ovlivnění sociálních kompetencí hrou u předškolních dětí vyrůstajících v rodinném prostředí.V teoretické části mapuje poznatky o psychické deprivaci, jejich příčinách, projevech a následcích pro život jedince. Rovněž se zabývá teorií hry a jejím významem pro vývoj dítěte. Podrobně se věnuje zejména období do tří let věku dítěte, které je velmi rizikovým pro vznik deprivační zkušenosti. Dále popisuje hru předškolních dětí běžné populace ve srovnání s hrou stejně starých vrstevníků postižených deprivací. Část výzkumná je zpracována metodou kazuistiky a popisuje vlastní šetření, které probíhalo ve vybrané mateřské škole speciální. Šetření se zúčastnily tři děti s psychickou deprivací. Společným znakem dětí bylo selhávání v běžných denních situacích a nápadná neschopnost hrát si, využívat adekvátně hračky a zapojit se do hry vrstevníků. Práce poukazuje na to, že sociální kompetence dětí s psychickou deprivací je možné hrou rozvíjet, úspěšnost dětí v běžném životě se však odvíjí od jejich schopnosti zobecňovat a přenášet si naučené dovednosti do jiného prostředí.

Abstract:

ANNOTATION The Diploma thesis “The Game as a Means of Social Competences Development of Psychically Deprived Children“ analyzes a possibility to influence social competences by pre-school children and children brought up in families through game. The theoretical part is dedicated to assessment of gathered facts on psychial deprivation, its causes, signs and influences on life of individuals. The theory of game and its significance in child development is also discussed. The period up to the age of three years is studied in detail, this period is considered very risky for the origin of deprivation experience. The thesis further studies the games of deprived pre-school children compared to the games of their peers that do not suffer from deprivation. The research part of the thesis is elaborated using the case study method and describes the research performed by the author in a selected specialized kindergarten. Three children suffering from psychical deprivation were subjects of the research. A common sign of the children was failure to deal with common everyday situations and visible incapability to play, use the toys adequately and to join their peers when playing. The thesis points out that social competencies of deprived children could be developped through various games, the success of children in everyday life is derived from their ability to generalize and transform the adapted abilities into different environment.
