Incremental cycle Detection

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá efektivní detekcí cyklu v rostoucích grafech. Na úvod je vysvětleno, k čemu jsou orientované acyklické grafy dobré a tedy proč má efektivní detekce cyklu smysl. V rámci této práce se bude předpokládat fixní počet vrcholů, graf poroste v rámci počtu hran, cílem představených algoritmů je detekovat první takovou hranu, která v grafu vytvoří cyklus. Většina algoritmů bude využívat pseudo-topologického uspořádání, což je slabší formou topologického uspořádání. Součástí práce je také vizualizace dvou hlavních algoritmů, jeden pro řídké grafy a druhý pro husté grafy.

Abstract:

This thesis focuses on effective cycle detection in incremental graphs. Introduction describes why and where are directed acyclic graphs used and thus why is effective cycle detection useful. This thesis assumes fixed number of vertices, graph grows only in number of edges, the aim of introduced algorithms is to detect first such edge that creates a cycle. Most of algorithms will use pseudo-topological ordering, which is weaker form of topological ordering. Vizualisation of two main algorithms is also part of this thesis, one algorithm is suited for sparse graphs, other for dense graphs.
