Prestige or pose of private schools?

Abstract:

Magisterská diplomová práce se zabývá pohledem učitelů soukromých škol na jejich prestiž. Práce je rozdělena na teoretickou a empirickou část. V teoretické části je popsáno právní ukotvení a vznik soukromých škol v České republice. Jsou představena rizika soukromého vzdělávání pro český vzdělávací systém. Pozornost je věnována také světovému kontextu soukromého vzdělávání. Empirická část zahrnuje metodologii výzkumného šetření a interpretaci výsledků z kvalitativního výzkumu, který byl realizován prostřednictvím deseti polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s učiteli soukromých škol. Výsledky ukazují, že učitelé soukromých škol považují výuku na těchto školách za nadstandardní. Naopak v oblasti zázemí soukromých škol se objevily velké výzvy.

Abstract:

The master's thesis deals with the view of private school teachers on the prestige of the schools. The work is divided into the theoretical and the empirical part. The theoretical part describes the juristic basis and the establishment of private schools in the Czech Republic. The risks of private education for the Czech educational system are presented. The attention is also paid to the global context of private education. The empirical part includes the methodology of the research survey and the interpretation of the qualitative research results which was implemented through ten semistructured interviews with private school teachers. The results show that teachers in private schools consider teaching in these schools to be above standard. On the contrary, great challenges have arisen in the area of facilities in private schools.
