Abstract:
This thesis analyzes the transition to a new form of global capitalism in the field of economics and the emergence of postmodernism in the field of culture. It introduces the concept of the hauntology by the French philosopher Jacques Derrida as a term to define the scope for an existence of "ghosts" - entities that deconstruct basic binary oppositions as alive / dead or present / absent.
