Cílem této práce je prozkoumat, jak dílo The Penelopiad zpochybňuje patriarchální témata původní Odyssey tím, že dává tradičně umlčeným ženským postavám hlas. Pro získání znalostí o odlišnostech obou děl a také jakým způsobem přistoupila Atwoodová v jejím díle k vyobrazení jejich postav, využívá tato práce komparaci. The purpose of this thesis is to examine how The Penelopiad challenges the patriarchal themes of the original Odyssey by giving traditionally silent female characters a voice. Using a comparison of used themes and a comparison of the characters of Penelope and the Twelve maids based on their depiction in both works, this thesis seeks to examine the differences between them and how Atwood approached …more
