Liberty in the work of Maria Calasanz Ziesche

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis presents the methodology of text interpretation based on the given hermeneutics rules. These methods and principles are applied on two concrete chapters of the novel Die letzte Freiheit by Marie Calasanz Ziesche. The description of the historical background and the author´s life together with the synthesis of previous applications of the rules of interpretation enable a deeper understanding of the chosen text and discover the other meanings of the passage. The work shows that Maria Calasanz Ziesche created a new type of novel in which she targeted made use of her educational, spiritual, theological and literary skills. She managed to work with historical facts by that way that she reached her educational aim - to lead a young person to the true and perfect freedom and love, thus to contribute to his personal formation. At the same time, a reader is drawn into the plot by the exciting way, the medieval reality is adequately explained to him and he is gently confronted with moral and value claims which arise in front of the protagonists.

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce představuje metodologii výkladu textu na základě daných hermeneutických pravidel. Tyto metody a zásady jsou pak aplikovány na konkrétních dvou kapitolách románu Marie Calasanz Ziesche Die letzte Freiheit. Popis historického rámce příběhu i život autorky pak spolu se syntézou předchozích aplikací výkladových pravidel umožňuje hlubší porozumění zvoleného textu a ozřejmí i další smysly úryvku. Práce ukazuje, že Maria Calasanz Ziesche vytvořila nový typ románu, ve kterém cíleně využila svoji pedagogickou, duchovní, teologickou a literární znalost a umění. S historickými fakty dokázala pracovat tak, že dosáhla svého pedagogického cíle - vést mladého člověka k opravdové a dokonalé svobodě a lásce, a tak přispět k jeho osobní formaci. Zároveň je čtenář poutavým způsobem vtažen do děje, středověká realita je mu odpovídajícím způsobem vysvětlena a nenásilně je také konfrontován s morálními a hodnotovými nároky, které před protagonisty vyvstávají.
